Agricultural/Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client, a leading galvanised steel manufacturer in the agricultural space, is looking for a technically driven Mechanical Design Engineer with a background in agricultural engineering. In this role, you will work on innovative farm system layouts and product designs. The position requires strong CAD capability, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver precise, manufacturable solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Proficiency in generating manufacturing drawings and effectively communicating job specifications with clarity and brevity.
• Proficient experience in the architectural design and layout of agricultural structures.
• Ability to interpret and analyze technical drawings, accurately specify components, and ensure adherence to engineering design and performance standards.
• Demonstrated capability in project management, including active involvement with sales teams throughout project development to ensure timely achievement of milestones.
• Collaborative work ethic with the sales team to devise and refine the design and layout of new projects.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to foster productive relationships with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers.

Requirements:

• Profound understanding of design principles, sketching techniques, CAD software, industrial materials, manufacturing methods, and engineering fundamentals.
• Essential combination of creativity and technical expertise to innovate and problem-solve effectively.
• Exceptional communication skills encompassing visual, verbal, and written channels.
• Demonstrated traits of energy, enthusiasm, and self-motivation to drive projects forward.
• Knowledge of the Agriculture sector to inform design decisions and solutions effectively.
• Possession of a logical and technical mindset coupled with outstanding organizational and personal management abilities.
• Familiarity with materials and proficiency in cost estimation for project planning and execution.
• Possession of a valid and clean driver's license.
