COE Lead – Seats (Center of Excellence – Seating Systems)

Qualifications: BE / B. Tech / M. Tech in Automotive/Mechanical streams

Experience:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in areas of Automotive Seating System Design & Development.
• Expertise in complete seating system delivery and achieving the targets in every phase of product development starting from Style to SOP.
• Experience in driving the changes in close discussion with Styling, Product Planning & Platform teams to meet the complete seating requirements.
• One of most critical and high exposure roles in Automotive industry. To lead a team of
• Engineers to enhance the seating features, comfort & convenience through Design details,
• Engineering robustness, appropriate material selection for meeting the all the performance requirements, stringent regulatory criteria, also ensuring the highest level of aesthetics and haptics.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Plan & execute the seating system delivery by meeting all the project requirements such as Cost, Weight, Performance & timeline in Passenger Vehicle programs with the highest order of comfort, convenience, safety & aesthetics.
• Reporting the Product development status & timely risk escalations in regular intervals and specified milestones.
• Support with Technical Expertise to Styling team, Product planning team to provide the best configuration by the means of appropriate benchmarking, future road map &
• Proof-of-concept readiness.
• Anticipating and reporting the risk associated in meeting the seats related DVP
• (Regulatory, Functional, Durability) & achieving the first time right for each program and proposing mitigation plans.
• Fully aware of upcoming regulations & consider the changes well in advance to ensure future ready seating system for upcoming programs.
• Support the supplier, product planning team & interface CFT team to setting the best possible FI targets & achieve them jointly.
• Build, Guide & Nurture the team to educate, experience & enhance their technical abilities to empower them to deliver the best products.
• Develop the team to work collaboratively with CFT’s like CAE, BSR, NVH, STA, DE,
• VD, PQ, NovaC, Validation, PVT etc to ensure high Quality product Design in line with the industry best practices to enhance Customer’s Experience.
• Closely monitor & timely review of tooling activities to closely work with CDMM /
• Supply base to ensure the utmost Product manufacturing quality & avoid potential failures & process issues during production stage & post SOP.
• Research of automotive seating related trends across industries and adaptation of the relevant improvements in the new vehicles.
