Chief Purchase Officer

Role Summary

We are seeking a Chief Purchase Officer (CPO) to lead our Procurement & Supply Chain

strategy for the mobility business. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of

the automotive/EV supplier ecosystem, strong commercial acumen, and a track record of

building supplier networks for greenfield or high-growth businesses.

Key Responsibilities

 Build and manage a robust supplier ecosystem for automotive components, EV systems,

raw materials, electronics, and tooling.

 Lead end-to-end procurement operations including CAPEX, OPEX, direct and indirect

purchases.

 Establish clear procurement KPIs (cost savings, lead time, supplier performance, etc.).

 Negotiate long-term contracts and pricing structures to drive cost efficiency.

 Monitor and control budgets across sourcing categories.

 Work closely with Engineering, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality

teams to align sourcing strategies with business goals.

 Participate in design-to-cost and make-vs-buy discussions at early product stages.

 Ensure supplier compliance with ethical standards, environmental norms, and legal

regulations.

 Develop risk mitigation strategies related to supply chain disruptions or vendor

dependencies.

 Build and lead a high-performing purchase and vendor management team.

 Promote agility, innovation, and accountability within the procurement organization.

Key Requirements

 15+ years of experience in automotive/EV sourcing and procurement, preferably with

OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.

 Proven experience in setting up greenfield or high-growth supply chains in India or

globally.

 Strong knowledge of automotive component categories, global supplier markets, and

cost benchmarking.

 Excellent negotiation, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

 Experience working with Chinese supplier ecosystems is a plus.

 Ability to thrive in a startup-like environment and align with a high-speed execution

culture.
