Who You Are

You are a hands-on, team-oriented process engineer with an aptitude for learning new things and a desire to have a positive impact towards the green transition. You will directly shape the design of our demonstration and industrial plants by working at the intersection of R&D and engineering to model, simulate, and optimize our process for both technical performance with economic viability. You have a versatile cooperative skill set, mental flexibility, and a passion for dynamic problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Own the engineering of purification and separation sections from R&D and supplier trials through pilot design, installation, commissioning, and performance monitoring, in close collaboration with the R&D team and our engineering firm
  • Build and maintain process simulations and core engineering documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, utilities balances) to support technical decisions for both the pilot and the future demo plant
  • Work hands-on with equipment suppliers and external engineering partners throughout FEED, detailed design, procurement, FAT/SAT, installation, and ramp-up to ensure technical alignment and expected performance
  • Contribute to safety, operability, and performance reviews (HAZID/HAZOP, bottleneck analyses, optimization plans) and drive the implementation of corrective and improvement actions
  • Structure the demonstration plant design basis by consolidating validated pilot data and operational learnings into robust industrial assumptions
  • Invest in our company values and vision and champion them as we grow

Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a closely related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in chemical process development and scale-up, including direct involvement in pilot or industrial plant design
  • Proven track record delivering data-driven process design packages (PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications) for multi-step chemical processes
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated collaboration abilities in English; French is a plus
  • Experience with purification operations and/or solid/liquid separation processes would be highly valued
  • Expertise in process simulation and modeling using tools such as Aspen Plus (or equivalent), with deep knowledge of thermodynamics and reaction engineering
  • Well-organized and practical approach to problem solving, driven by curiosity and attention to detail
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; ability to figure out what needs to be done—and then do it
