Design Engineer

Job Description

To coordinate with the in-house design team, external consultants, and Project Managers to ensure that all design intent and specifications are adhered to.

Responsibilities

• Effectively liaise and coordinate with the Design team, Principals, Consultants, Landlords, and clients in the design planning and ensure accurate design deliverables of given projects.
• Provide the Projects team with all necessary drawings, specifications, schedules, and status of statutory and other approvals, programmers, and methodology statements as necessary.
• Assist in detailed design development of given projects, monitor progress, and offer suggestions on design amendments or improvements.
• Thoroughly review all allocated retail brand manuals and project Design applications and ensure compliance on site.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings between client, subcontractors, and execution team.
• Undertake Value Engineering reviews during the various design stages and initiate corrective action on any matters arising, in consultation with the project Manager or Design consultant.
• Liaise with the Project team and ensure they have a proper understanding of information contained in the design documents and provide additional or relevant supporting design information during the project development or execution.
• Conduct regular site visits for observations and ensure compliance checks on previously reviewed design work, as well as generate design review reports.
• Advise the project team on design problems arising during the project, including all client complaints, errors in design, or required site adjustments or changes and offer alternate suggestions or solutions.
• Ensure that the projects are accomplished with due importance to code and conduct of architectural practices.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in operating AutoCAD with thorough expertise and knowledge to solve design and project execution problems.
• Degree in Architecture with good knowledge of preparing Concept and Detail drawings and designs gained through training or work experience, preferably in construction or interior fit-out projects.
