Position: Production Designer

Summary:

Typical Day in the Role

• Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is working on a studio supporting industry solutions engineering by using emerging tech to work with external customers on how to leverage that tech. The team leverages emerging technologies such as AR/VR, GenAI, robotics including physical AI to create visionary prototypes and solutions that demonstrate value at scale for customers across multiple industries. The team will be asked to create a vision for what the future of a product or industry may look like, do some research, then brainstorm. Initially they will create a powerpoint deck to show their vision to the customer, then create a video on how to utilize emergent tech for this vision. Most projects last 2-3 months.

• Key projects: This role will contribute to all of the above, specializing in 3D visualization and utilizing AI. The role will help brainstorm and build out these prototypes, creating 3D animations or world, then layering data and AI on top of the prototype.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications

• Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts

• Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution

Candidate Requirements

• Years of Experience Required: 10+ overall years of experience in the field.

• Degrees or certifications required: No degree is required to be eligible for this role.

• Disqualifiers: Candidates who lack demonstrable 3D visualization skills or do not have a portfolio submitted will not be a great fit.

• Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain previous experience using Gen AI, being up to date on emergent AI tools as well as having created some video or imagery using AI. Significant previous experience in UI/UX is a big plus as well.

• The Ideal portfolio will demonstrate a good understanding of 3D, lighting, camera placement, storytelling using data. The ideal portfolio will also include UI/UX design work, previous work with video and/or audio, and include various types and styles of animation as well as representing reality and mechanical/manufacturing styles well.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required

• 0-2 years experience required

• Development experience in needed language or technology (e.g. - C#, C++, HTML)

• Hands on experience in designing, developing and successful deployment of large scale projects from end-to-end

• Hands on experience in following the iterative and agile SDLC

Salary Range:

$ 140,000 - 150,000 Annually - Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Technical Leadership:

  1. Strong experience in developing, scaling, and validating manufacturing processes for medical devices or other regulated industries.
  2. Mastery in materials, equipment selection, and process technologies such as molding, joining, assembly, laser processing, or other advanced manufacturing methods used in medical device production.

Background Experiences.

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Experience: 10+ years in process development, manufacturing engineering, or product development, with at least 10 years in the medical device or other highly regulated industry.
  3. Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB) are desirable.
