About The Opportunity
The Integrated Product Support (IPS) Design Interface Engineer integrates supportability across all Support System capabilities with Mission System design, embedding RAM, safety, Human System Integration (HIS), and affordability across acquisition, Introduction into Service (IIS), and sustainment to drive reliable, cost-effective outcomes.
What’s Involved
- Embed supportability into Mission System requirements and design where practicable
- Lead IPS design-interface analyses across all Support System Constituent Capabilities (SSCCs) and IPS elements
- Align supportability with certification, safety, security and environmental requirements
- Integrate Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) engineering with Verification and Validation (V&V) and Test & Evaluation activities
- Apply HSI to optimise operability, maintainability and training burden
- Define Support System design to maximise Mission System cost effectiveness
- Plan and assure supportability verification for IIS
- Drive reliability growth post-IIS through Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) and Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) pathways
- Contribute to ASDEFCON artefacts and acquisition governance
You’ll Need
- AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance or ability to obtain (Australian Citizen)
- AQF Level 7+ degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Naval Architecture or related engineering
- Experience in RAM engineering and/or HSI/Human Factors using MIL-STD-46855, MIL-STD-1472 or similar
- Demonstrated FRACAS leadership and engineering change control (ECPs) in service environments
- Experience delivering IPS/ILS within Defence acquisition (ASDEFCON), including Acquisition and IIS artefacts
- Strong knowledge of IPS elements and Design Interface practices, with evidence of embedding supportability into design and test baselines
