Design Engineer

Role Overview

As a Design Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for the design and development of propulsion systems for marine and industrial applications. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full product development lifecycle, from early concept design to prototype builds, testing, validation, and production support.

Main Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems within driveline and transmission applications.
• Participate in the entire development process, including concept development, detailed design, prototyping, validation, and product maintenance.
• Develop and optimize complex components such as castings and other machine element parts.
• Support prototype builds and participate in rig testing and field testing activities.
• Work closely with production and supplier teams to optimize component performance and manufacturability.
• Contribute to quality improvements, cost optimization, and continuous product enhancements.
• Ensure designs meet functional, performance, and reliability requirements.

Knowledge / Experience

• Several years of experience working as a Design Engineer in product development projects.
• Solid experience with mechanical design across multiple development stages.
• Proficiency in Creo.
• Experience designing complex mechanical components, such as castings and transmission-related parts.
• Ability to work both from a holistic system perspective and at a detailed component level.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

• Approximately 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience working in cross-functional and project-based environments.
• Interest in or experience with products and systems used in a marine or industrial environment.
• Experience collaborating with manufacturing sites and external suppliers.
• A curious mindset with a strong drive for learning, development, and continuous improvement.
