Design Engineer F/H/X

Job Description

The Design Engineer will contribute to the development and lifecycle phases of technical or design-related activities. Responsibilities include managing project documentation according to the New Product Innovation (NPI) process for design phases.

Responsibilities

• Define and create innovative products or concepts based on engineering principles.
• Conduct detailed design of components and products, including tolerance analysis.
• Apply appropriate testing approaches to reduce design risks.
• Perform robustness studies on product functions.
• Contribute to Design for Manufacturing (DfM) activities.
• Analyze potential product failures and define resolution action plans.
• Train colleagues on technical and organizational requirements.
• Support design qualification, including test development.
• Engage in technical interactions with suppliers.
• Draft technical reports and produce high-quality design documentation.

Project Participation

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create new and innovative solutions.
• Participate in project reviews and shared project activities such as risk analysis.
• Present results and information to clients as necessary.
• Act as a reference/expert in design activities.
• Support the transfer of designs to manufacturing/operations.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in mechanical, design, or product design engineering.
• Technical training in product design and development, ideally in pharmaceutical devices.
• Proven experience in detailed design and product development, ideally 5 years.
• Knowledge of high-volume product development and plastic injection.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Strong technical presentation and writing skills.
• Experience with CAD software (ideally SolidWorks or Creo) and/or FEA tools (structure, fluid, moldflow).
