Design Engineer - Door Panels - Interior Room

The role

We are seeking a talented and driven Automotive Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing components and systems for next-generation door panels, supporting projects from early concept through to production start.

You will play a key role in shaping innovative, safe, and sustainable solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams within engineering, manufacturing, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop interior door panels
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and 3DPMI
• Participate in concept development, packaging studies, and feasibility analysis
• Ensure designs meet performance targets, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with simulation teams, durability, and crash performance
• Work closely with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure design-for-production and cost efficiency
• Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities
• Drive continuous improvement and implement design changes throughout the project

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent
• Experience in automotive product development
• Strong proficiency in CAD tools and PLM systems (CATIA, Teamcenter)
• Knowledge of automotive systems, materials, and manufacturing processes (injection molding, dressed parts)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
• Fluent in English (Swedish is a plus)
• Previous experience in the automotive industry is a plus
