API and AI Infrastructure Developer

Position

This role reports to the VP of AI Engineering.

As an infrastructure developer, you will work with both the AI and development teams to keep our Python-based AI features scalable and production-ready. You should be comfortable programming in Python, working across teams, and have a firm understanding of Python best practices for service design and deployment—along with a healthy sense of curiosity about modern AI practices and applications.

Key tasks and activities will include:

• Planning, extending, developing, and maintaining our Python/FastAPI-based AI services
• Developing and maintaining service health and scalability for our RAG pipelines (used in AI question-answering) and RAG-based data collection pipelines
• Defining and evolving the design, architecture, and tech stack for the next generation of our AI offerings, with a focus on maintainability and scalability
• Additional tasks may be added based on your skills and interests

Your Profile

Experience required:

• 3+ years of proven experience as a backend Python developer, with an emphasis on architecture and infrastructure
• Strong understanding of FastAPI (or a similar Python framework, e.g., Flask)
• Strong understanding of SQL-based databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with Docker and container deployments
• Baseline familiarity with vector-based data storage (either full systems like Qdrant or vector extensions to traditional SQL databases)

Bonus experience:

• Azure, AWS, or other cloud-based services
• Redis
• API design
• PyTorch, CUDA, NumPy

Other qualities:

• Enjoys taking experimental features and adding the solid foundations needed to make them production-ready
• Strong curiosity about generative AI and a willingness to learn
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Great sense of humor
• Enjoys working in a small team with a start-up vibe

In this role, AI-assisted coding is encouraged, but you must fully understand what you’re shipping and be able to clearly explain any code you deliver, including the underlying decisions.
