P&C Engineer

Job Description

• Perform detailed engineering packages for protection, control, metering, and telecom systems for Power System Transmission and Distribution projects.
• Perform quality assurance checks on engineering packages done by others.
• Approve, stamp, and sign the associated designs.
• Provide support for the preparation of estimates and proposals for the component of bids prepared by the High Voltage Department.
• Perform studies and prepare related reports.
• Make recommendations for the purchase of major equipment and fixed assets.
• Maintain courteous and professional relations between staff and other business units.
• Provide effective customer support and problem resolution.
• Implement necessary corrective actions to resolve non-conformities.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering plus five or more years of experience in protection, control, SCADA, and telecom design.
• A professional engineering designation within the Province of Ontario is a must.
• Experience and skills in detailed designs, maintenance, troubleshooting, team-building, training, report preparation, communications, decision-making, planning, and organization.
• Project management experience and skills in planning, scheduling, resource management, estimating, progress reporting, and negotiations with clients and vendors would be an asset.
