Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer with 2–3 years of experience as an HVAC Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and preparing HVAC systems in compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform building cooling load calculations using recognized methods and software.
• Design HVAC systems including ducting layouts, chilled water systems, ventilation, and equipment selection.
• Size HVAC equipment such as chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, and exhaust fans.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, layouts, and schematics using AutoCAD.
• Review and evaluate different HVAC design approaches for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, ASHRAE standards, and project specifications.
• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, architectural, and structural teams.
• Assist in preparation of BOQ, technical submittals, and material specifications.
• Support site team during installation, testing, and commissioning stages.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience as an HVAC & Plumbing Engineer.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and HVAC design software (e.g., HAP).
• Strong knowledge of HVAC load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Good understanding of building codes and HVAC standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Preferred:

• Experience in MEP contracting or consultancy.
• Knowledge of local authority regulations (if UAE-based).
