Job Description
We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to manage our infrastructure in a multi-cloud environment, including AWS and GCP, with a focus on Operational Excellence, Security, and Reliability. This is a hands-on role where you will apply your Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) skills using tools like Terraform and Serverless Framework to deliver and maintain our architecture.
Day to day you will:

- Own and deliver any non-functional requirements associated with roadmap items, including Observability, Availability, Scalability, and Security.
- Provide guidance to squads on architecture to ensure high availability.
- Ensure visibility of overall cost, project-specific costs, and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
- Perform periodic reviews of infrastructure across AWS's Well-Architected framework and address gaps and issues.
- Ensure visibility of infrastructure at the Account, Project, and Service levels by creating and updating Cloudwatch dashboards and other observability systems.
- Participate and provide input in governance forums such as with Nine and AWS.
- Document and manage infrastructure risks, and communicate them to key stakeholders.
- Recommend and apply security best practices from industry frameworks such as CIS, NIST, and ISO 27000.
- Proactively review CVEs and run scans on infrastructure to secure our infrastructure.
- Review insights from systems such as Intruder, Cloudability, and Cloudwatch to identify potential security risks.
- Maintain Page, Cache, and Firewall rules across AWS, Cloudflare, and GCP to ensure our systems are protected from malicious activity.
Qualifications
What you'll bring:
- Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computing or equivalent.
- At least 5 years' experience in virtualized environments like AWS or Google Cloud.
- At least 3 years of system, network, and application server experience supporting Linux/Unix infrastructure.
- Expert-level knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python/Node).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Serverless framework.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- A proactive, "can-do" attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience maintaining distributed, containerized infrastructure using services such as SQS, ECS Fargate, and RDS Serverless.
- Experience with cost management, budgeting, and reservations in AWS and GCP.
- Familiarity with common SIEM tools and security frameworks such as NIST.
- Experience managing cache rules and firewall rules in AWS and Cloudflare.
What We Offer:
- Flexible Work Arrangement: Enjoy a hybrid working model requiring 3 days in the office.
- High-Calibre Team: Join a high-performing team known for its great culture and collaborative spirit.
- Career Growth: Be an integral part of a fast-growing, dynamic business with ample opportunities for development.
