FPGA design engineer

Our client is a leading high tech company in the brainport region. The organization is renowned for its innovative technologies in imaging, detector development, and advanced electronics.

As an FPGA Engineer, you will be part of a specialized team responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering high-quality FPGA solutions for complex high-tech systems. You typically work on one or two projects in parallel, seeing your work evolve from concept to implementation in a finished product. Your challenge will be to solve technically complex problems while balancing short-term objectives with long-term goals and the needs of multiple stakeholders.

Team & Role

You will join an enthusiastic, multidisciplinary team focused on sensor and imaging technology. The FPGA team consists of experienced developers collaborating closely to create state-of-the-art designs. The role requires technical depth, creativity, and a strong sense of ownership.

Qualifications / Profile

We welcome candidates with the following background:

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science
• 5+ years of experience (Bachelor) or 3+ years (Master) in R&D
• Extensive experience with HLS & VHDL (required); C/C++ knowledge is a plus
• Hands-on experience with Xilinx/AMD toolchains, including debugging
• Proficient in Python and familiar with scripting (Tcl) and automation
• Familiarity with DevOps tools, such as CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git, and version control
• Proactive, self-driven, and results-oriented
• Eager to learn and flexible in changing circumstances
• Strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic approach
• Excellent communicator and team player
• Ability to switch between conceptual thinking and detailed hands-on work, including hardware measurements
• Value-driven with the ability to prioritize and act effectively
