About The Role

Our client is a venture-backed startup with enormous momentum, building the infrastructure layer for Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance. They are often described as "Plaid for Insurance," aiming to modernize the highly fragmented, analog, and manual workflows of the $2T global P&C industry through a simple, modern API. The company has already grown revenue 3x year-to-date in 2025.

They are seeking two highly autonomous engineers (employee #5 and #6) to play a foundational role. This position involves owning the design and implementation of a robust, API-driven product and helping define the future architecture and company culture.

Responsibilities

  • Build a world-class, API-driven product by working closely with the team and early customers
  • Solve hard technical problems from scratch, owning the solution through the entire development lifecycle
  • Define the tech stack and architecture for the product—the team is technology agnostic and focuses on using the right tool for the job
  • Contribute to the creation of team culture, as well as internal tooling and processes
  • Bring manual and error-prone insurance workflows (copy-pasting from emails, web portals) into a seamless, modern API layer

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience as a full-stack or backend engineer working in high-growth startup environments
  • Excitement about owning the design and implementation of a robust, API-driven product
  • Ability to work autonomously and contribute significantly to foundational company decisions

Benefits

  • Salary: $180K - $200K
  • Equity: 0.3% - 0.7%
  • Visa Sponsorship: Will sponsor TN and H1B transfers, but not new H1Bs or visas with a long lead time
