About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to take a leading role in developing the core firmware that powers our robotic systems. You will work at the intersection of motion control, sensing, and system integration—building the software foundations that make our system precise, reliable, and scalable.

This role is hands-on, highly technical, and central to the evolution of our product. You will collaborate closely with the Mechatronics Team Lead, Mechanical Engineering, and Validation to bring features from concept to field-ready deployment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded firmware for our robotic platforms, including:

Hardware drivers for sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces

Real-time control logic and state machines

Communication protocols, diagnostics, and system orchestration

  • Work closely with the team lead to ensure seamless integration of firmware with mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems.
  • Lead and support bring-up activities, system tuning, and integration testing.
  • Participate in field deployments, including on-site debugging, optimization, and iterative improvements.
  • Collaborate with validation engineers to improve automated test coverage, reliability, and robustness.
  • Contribute to documentation, coding standards, architecture decisions, and best practices.

Required Skills

  • 4–7 years of professional experience in embedded firmware development.
  • Background in robotics, motion control, or autonomous systems.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ for microcontrollers (e.g., ESP32, STM32, or similar).
  • Experience with real-time systems, Zephyr RTOS particularly, and hardware abstraction layers.
  • Solid understanding of electronics fundamentals: GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART, PWM, ADCs, motor drivers, etc.
  • Experience integrating sensors, actuators, and control loops.
  • Comfort with debug tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, JTAG/SWD, serial sniffers).
  • Familiarity with version control, embedded CI workflows, and structured development processes.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to dive into complex system-level issues.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)

  • Experience with tooling or test automation.
  • Exposure to industrial communication protocols (CAN, RS485, Modbus, etc.).
