An Overview Of This Role
As a Developer Relations Engineer on our Contributor Success team, you will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and success of our contributor community. You will drive initiatives that empower community members to contribute effectively to open source projects, supporting programs such as Education, Open Source, AI tooling, and Contributor Success. In this role, you will lead project plans, coach cohorts, and collaborate closely with both internal teams and external contributors to track and accelerate contributions. Your work will directly impact how thousands of developers engage with our organization, helping to grow and sustain a vibrant, productive community. You will also have opportunities to travel and engage with customers, guiding them through onboarding and contribution programs. This role offers a unique chance to combine your fullstack engineering skills with community leadership, all within a remote, asynchronous, and values-driven environment.
What You’ll Do
- Drive contribution efficiency by leading and managing contributor success projects that enhance community engagement and output.
- Coach and lead cohorts of community members, providing technical and non-technical guidance to support their growth and contributions.
- Track and analyze community contributions, using metrics to measure progress and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with the Programs team to support initiatives such as Education, Open Source, AI tooling, and Contributor programs.
- Advocate for prioritizing improvements based on community feedback to continuously enhance contributor experience.
- Participate as a permanent member of the merge request coaching team, specializing in areas like development, testing, or documentation.
- Facilitate Contributor Success team stand-ups and agile processes to ensure alignment and effective delivery.
- Travel to customer sites to onboard and guide new contributors, fostering stronger relationships and expanding the contributor base.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience developing with Ruby and JavaScript, demonstrating proficiency in fullstack engineering.
- Strong expertise in Git and source control systems, with a solid understanding of contribution workflows.
- Proven involvement in open source communities, including contributing to recognized projects.
- Ability to coach and guide community members on both technical and non-technical aspects of contribution.
- Effective communication skills, including public speaking and customer interaction experience.
- Self-motivated and organized, capable of managing projects and driving results independently.
- Comfortable working in a remote, asynchronous environment and collaborating across distributed teams.
- Openness to diverse backgrounds and transferable skills, with a commitment to our values and inclusive culture.
About The Team
The Developer Relations Engineer is part of the Contributor Success team, which focuses on increasing the efficiency and impact of community contributions. This team owns key initiatives that support community members in becoming successful contributors, including coaching, project management, and tracking contribution metrics. The team operates fully remotely and collaborates asynchronously across multiple regions, leveraging values of transparency and open communication. They face the challenge of growing and nurturing a diverse, global contributor base while continuously improving the contributor experience and engagement.

Do you want to be part of a dynamic and growing organization? We are looking for a Senior Consultant who will take on the following responsibilities:
- You provide the technical design & validation of the ICT solutions (Servers, Storage and Hypervisor) for our customers and ourselves.
- You broaden and maintain your knowledge of the various systems and solutions in terms of Compute, Storage, Backup, Hypervisor technology and maintain close contact with suppliers to be aware of new applications and products.
- You are responsible for the installation of the systems, both at hardware level and in software.
- You work closely with the project manager and are the technical expert in the implementation of the project.
- After installation, you give the customer a hands-on, on-site training on the various functionalities of our solutions.
- You are responsible for working out and solving common problems with existing installations (2nd & 3rd line support).
- You are open to eventually working in a 24/7 environment.
- You follow the necessary training courses annually that give access to certifications within the framework of the necessary knowledge within the function.
Job requirements
- You have a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent through experience.
- You can rely on at least 5 years of experience in a similar function.
- Your technical knowledge includes:
- Enterprise grade HPE, Dell server knowledge (compute, type rack mount servers or blade)
- Enterprise grade HPE, Dell storage solutions incl. SAN Switching
- Experience in setting up and managing large redundant compute/storage setups across multiple locations
- Experience with Backup solutions such as VEEAM and/or Commvault
- In-depth knowledge of Windows Server environments
- In-depth knowledge of virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V, ..)
- Interest and attention for Cybersecurity
- Basic knowledge of network technologies (LAN, WAN, VPN)
- Basic knowledge of Linux is a plus
- You can work in a customer-oriented manner, can consult well with colleagues and customers, but can also put the necessary matters on paper (documentation).
- You have a fluent knowledge of Dutch (speaking and writing) and French (speaking) (and are willing to increase your knowledge of the other national language if necessary).
- You are flexible and mobile for travel throughout Belgium.

Role Profile
Your tasks in the design phase include:
- Designing and sizing measurement networks (measurement points, sensor selection, communication, data flows)
- Collaborating on hardware concepts: building measurement cabinets, data loggers, sensor couplings, power supply (net/solar/battery), cabling
- Selecting and evaluating components (sensors, gateways, antennas, modems, housings)
- Preparing technical documentation: schematics, parts lists, installation and test procedures
- Contributing to IoT architecture: connectivity (e.g., 4G/5G, LoRaWAN, Ethernet/Wi-Fi), data integration, and security
Your tasks in the operational phase include:
- Supporting installation, commissioning, and calibration of measurement setups

Profile
You have a strong technical foundation built through education, experience, or self-study. A degree (bachelor or master in electromechanics, electronics/ICT, industrial sciences) is a plus, but not a must. Insight and technique are decisive for us.
- You have a passion for sensors, measurement and control technology, and setting up measurement installations
- You have a strong interest in IoT and connectivity (e.g., LoRaWAN, MQTT, TCP/IP, mobile networks)
- You possess basic knowledge of electronics (reading schematics, cabling, power supplies, IP rating, EMC basics)
- You work analytically and accurately
- You communicate fluently in Dutch and French
