Senior Site Reliability Engineer

The Role

We’re hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to take ownership of the reliability, stability, and security of a business-critical, on-prem platform used by customers across Europe.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys operating close to the metal, improving resilience, and enabling engineering teams to move fast without breaking production.

The Environment

We operate primarily in on-prem and self-managed environments, with a strong focus on efficiency and automation.

The platform is evolving, with active work around:

• Modernising legacy infrastructure
• Improving reliability, observability, and automation
• Preparing for containerisation, event-driven systems, and a modern data platform

Infrastructure is treated as a product, and internal engineers are your users.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own platform reliability: Share responsibility for uptime, performance, and incident response across infrastructure layers
• Improve operational maturity: Strengthen backup, recovery, and resilience for critical data services
• Build real observability: Ensure meaningful visibility from infrastructure through to applications
• Drive compliance readiness: Lead practical preparation for ISO27001 / SOC2 using automated, engineer-friendly controls
• Enable secure delivery: Own identity, access, and vulnerability workflows so security supports - not blocks - development

What We’re Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux-based systems and production infrastructure
• A pragmatic mindset toward security, reliability, and risk
• Experience working in environments with compliance or audit requirements
• Comfortable collaborating closely with engineers and taking ownership

Nice to Have

• Experience in a fast-moving product or scale-up environment
• Exposure to Kubernetes in production
• Familiarity with event-driven platforms and operating them reliably
• Experience with automation, IaC, or GitOps approaches
• Interest in building foundations for modern data platforms
