Founding Engineer (CTO-track)

Our organization is an AI-powered, all-in-one marketplace for circular services, designed to make circular living as easy as buying new items. With one app, users can buy, sell, lease (out), repair, and refurbish anything in under a minute, while saving money and the climate in the process. The vision is to become the world’s leading circular economy platform, empowering millions to embrace circular living, while creating a new standard for how we produce, use, and recover goods.

Why now

6+ months of groundwork is done - research, interviews, prototypes, early signups, building the team, planning go-to-market, and an MVP that’s around halfway built. You won’t start from zero. You’ll complete and ship v1 along with your two co-founders, and set the pace for everything that follows.

Role at a glance

An S-class AI/full-stack engineer who will take the lead in developing the marketplace, and code 70–90% of the time for the first 6–12 months. You’ll own web/mobile, data/AI, and core infra. Title and scope can grow into CTO as we scale.

Role description

• Ship v1 (web + mobile), then iterate weekly to product-market fit.
• Build the data/AI backbone.
• Set up solid architecture, cloud, testing, and CI/CD without overbuilding to keep us simple and shipping fast.
• Make clear, simple tech choices, and own our tech-vision.
• Later, hire and mentor a tiny A-team.

Qualifications

• Data Science/AI expertise.
• Experience with mobile/web-app development.
• Relevant working experience, preferably having founded or led at an early-stage startup and shipped software from 0 to 1.
• Generally highly skilled and efficient, and enjoy owning outcomes. Also kind, ambitious, and in for the long game (5+ years).
• Preferably Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

What you'll get

Real ownership: equal or near-equal equity (4-year vesting, 1-year cliff). No salary until funding/revenue. A meaningful problem, a clear path to launch, and a founder who’s all-in (CS BSc+MSc, UC Berkeley alum, ex-marketplace co-founder).

Oslo preferred. Preferably full-time start within 1–2 months.
