About The Role
As a Founding Developer Experience Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how developers and customers experience and adopt our API platform. You will bridge product, engineering, and customer needs by advocating for developers, guiding solution design, and building trust through code, content, and community.
In collaboration with the Product and Engineering teams, you will design high-level solutions for customers, create resources that accelerate adoption, and influence the roadmap through developer feedback. This role involves engaging directly with developers, representing our organization in the ecosystem, and ensuring our platform delivers clarity, value, and scalability from day one.
What you’ll do:
- Developer Advocacy: Build demos, SDKs, and integrations that showcase our APIs, and represent our organization at events and online forums.
- Content & Education: Create tutorials, guides, and technical documentation that simplify onboarding, clearly communicate the value proposition, and make it easy for developers to understand and adopt the platform.
- Community Engagement: Manage developer channels, support early adopters, and cultivate advocates in the ecosystem.
- Customer Enablement: Design and advise on high-level solutions with customers during the sales process, guiding their consultants and engineering teams on best practices and value extraction.
- Product Feedback: Channel developer and customer insights to product and engineering teams to influence roadmap and improve usability.
- Ecosystem Growth: Build partnerships, maintain SDKs and integrations, and track developer metrics to support platform adoption.
You are:
- Entrepreneurial: Thriving in a fast-paced startup environment. You're proactive, self-motivated, and have a can-do attitude that gets projects done.
- Systemic Thinker: You can see the bigger picture while keeping an eye on the details, ensuring every element works in harmony.
- Autonomous: You are comfortable in small teams where you are expected to take full ownership of your projects, driving them from concept to completion.
- Collaborative: You’re eager to grow alongside us, learning from both success and setbacks as we build the platform together.
- Thirst for Knowledge: You’re passionate about your craft, always seeking new knowledge while sharing your best practices with the team.
- Thriving in Ambiguity: Uncertainty motivates you. You embrace complex challenges that often raise more questions than answers.
You have:
- 6+ years of experience in developer-facing or solution engineering roles, ideally at early-stage (Seed/Series A) API-first companies.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with confidence in customer-facing and public-speaking environments.
- Deep technical expertise in APIs, with the ability to design and communicate high-level solution architectures to customer engineering teams.
- Strong programming background in at least one modern language (e.g. Python, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript) and proven ability to build SDKs, demos, and integrations.
- Demonstrated success in creating high-impact developer content (documentation, tutorials, technical guides, or talks) that drives adoption and community growth.
- Strong track record of engaging developer communities and building advocacy through direct support, education, and thought leadership.
- [+] Experience in data infrastructure, or security-sensitive API platforms.
- [+] Prior involvement in pre-sales or solution engineering within complex B2B integrations.
- [+] Contributions to open-source projects or SDK ecosystems.
We Offer:
- Salary: Competitive
- Discretionary Bonus: Potential of company-wide annual payment
- Flexible Vacation: 25 days, Bank holidays, and Special days
- Flexible hours: Choose your working hours around core hours (9:00 – 15:00)
- Stock Option: Become an owner of our organization with significant wealth creation potential
- Pension: Auto-enrolment into our pension scheme
- Best Tech and Equipment: Macbook and the best equipment you need to excel
- Relocation: Potential relocation package for the right candidate in this role.
We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcome and valued.
