Join the Team: Backend Engineer (Java / Platform Development)

Are you a developer passionate about stable, scalable systems and smart backend solutions? We are looking for a Back End Developer to join a team that builds and maintains the internal tools used by editorial and product teams every day.

About the Team:

The team is responsible for developing and improving systems used by editors, designers, and product developers. Backend and frontend developers work closely together to create efficient data flows, stable pipelines, and solutions that simplify content creation and publishing.

About the Role:

As a Backend Engineer, you will primarily work with Java and PostgreSQL, developing backend services, data pipelines, and GraphQL interfaces that drive internal tools forward. Collaboration with developers working in TypeScript is also part of the role, so experience in frontend is a plus!

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services in Java
• Improve and optimize systems based on PostgreSQL
• Work with GraphQL APIs and integrations with frontend
• Collaborate closely with teams working in TypeScript
• Contribute to infrastructure and performance improvements
• Ensure stable, scalable solutions for internal tools

We are looking for someone who has:

• Strong experience in Java and backend architecture
• Good knowledge of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
• Experience or familiarity with GraphQL and TypeScript
• Ability to collaborate across system boundaries and with frontend teams
• A communicative, curious, and solution-oriented work approach

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with publishing platforms or CMS
• Previous work in environments where internal users are the main target group
