The Role:

We have been awarded the Designer Support Contract to provide comprehensive design and engineering support to all designed ships in service with the Royal Australian Navy. This landmark contract marks a significant milestone for our organization, as it is the first contract held directly with the Commonwealth of Australia, underscoring our commitment to innovation and excellence in the maritime industry.
Operating under the Design Support Contract (DSC), we are seeking expressions of interest from Intermediate, Senior and Lead Engineers, from all different disciplines to join our teams based in Sydney. These roles are available for an immediate start.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside industry leaders and like-minded engineers on sustaining designed warships in service with the Royal Australian Navy (including Hobart Class DDGs, Canberra Class LHDs and Supply Class AORs).

As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, partnering closely with Account Executives to deliver compelling demonstrations, guide technical evaluations, and ensure solutions are aligned with customer needs.

PSA Engineer - Generation

Job Description
We are looking for a skilled PSA Engineer – Generation to join our Grid Software team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Power System Applications for Generation Management, including Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Load Frequency Control, Load Forecasting, Economic Dispatch, and other related domains.
In this role, you will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing Energy Management Systems (EMS) — ensuring system reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction. You will also provide technical support, perform troubleshooting, and implement software fixes and enhancements on live production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, administer, and optimize Energy Management Systems (EMS) for generation operations.
- Perform technical corrective actions to restore failed or degraded services on EMS systems.
- Conduct code reviews, testing, deployment, and monitoring of fixes, patches, and system updates.
- Support and enhance Power System Applications such as Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Load Frequency Control (LFC), Load Forecasting, Economic Dispatch, Power Flow, State Estimation, Contingency Analysis, and Operator Training Simulator (OTS).
- Install and validate patches and upgrades on live customer environments.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and customer teams to identify, design, and implement system improvements.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by maintaining strong relationships and delivering proactive technical support.
Required Technical & Functional Skills
- 5+ years of experience with Power System Applications in the Generation domain.
- Hands-on expertise with GE PowerOn Reliance (XA/21) and/or AEMS/GDC platforms, or equivalent systems from Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider, etc.
- Proficient in both Linux and Windows environments.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP3, Modbus, ICCP, and OPC.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as C, C++, Perl, Shell Scripting, and SQL.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging capabilities.
- Ability to interpret logs, analyze performance issues, and provide effective solutions.
- Experience applying software fixes, upgrades, and patches in live EMS environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience with Energy Management Systems (EMS) in Generation Control environments.
- Strong understanding of power system operations, generation dispatch, and grid stability concepts.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with global teams and customers.
