As a Principal Vehicle Electronics Engineer, you will play a critical role in defining the electronic backbone of Ultraviolettes next-generation electric vehicles. Your
responsibilities will span architecture, integration, compliance, and validation—ensuring intelligent, high-performance systems across all vehicle platforms. Your roles and responsibilities include:

1. Vehicle Electronics Architecture
Design and define the vehicle electronics architecture including ECUs, VCUs, TCUs, HMIs, and sensor networks.
Develop and maintain system-level schematics, interface definitions, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, UART, SPI, I2C).

2. Embedded Systems Integration
Lead the integration of embedded controllers for vehicle functions such as lighting, indicators, horn, immobilizer, and cluster.
Collaborate with firmware teams to define hardware-software interfaces, bootloader strategies, and OTA update mechanisms.

3. Telematics & Connectivity
Architect and validate connected vehicle systems including GPS, GSM/LTE, BLE, and Wi-Fi modules.
Work with cloud and mobile app teams to ensure real-time data streaming, diagnostics, and remote-control features.

4. Diagnostics & Compliance
Develop and implement UDS-based diagnostics, fault logging, and service tools.
Ensure compliance with AIS-138, AIS-004, ISO 26262, and other relevant automotive standards.

5. Wiring & Harness Design
Oversee the design and validation of  vehicle wiring harnesses, connector selection, and routing strategies.
Ensure robustness against vibration, moisture, EMI/EMC, and thermal conditions.

6. Testing & Validation
Define and execute test plans for bench-level and vehicle-level validation.
Use tools like Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, ETAS INCA, and oscilloscopes for debugging and validation.

7. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with mechanical, software, powertrain, and UX teams to ensure system-level integration.
Participate in design reviews, FMEA sessions, and field issue resolution.

What we are looking for:
  • B.E./B. Tech or M.E./M. Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a
  • related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in vehicle electronics development, preferably in
  • 2W/EV domain.
  • Strong understanding of  CAN/LIN protocols, embedded systems, and
  • automotive diagnostics.
  • Experience with instrument clusters, telematics, sensors, and vehicle body
  • electronics.
  • Proficiency in schematic design tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD) and simulation
  • tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink)

4. Innovation and Strategic Planning:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative battery

solutions for different applications, including EVs, military use, retrofit

projects, and stationary storage products.

• Advise on strategic decisions such as value chain analysis and manufacturing

techniques to drive business growth and improve production efficiency.

• Support research and development efforts to identify and implement new

technologies and processes that can enhance battery performance and

safety.

5. Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure all battery projects comply with safety regulations and industry

standards for energy storage products.

• Conduct risk assessments and work on continuous improvement to enhance

the safety and reliability of battery systems.

6. Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration:

• Work closely with other departments and stakeholders, including

manufacturing and production teams, to facilitate the seamless integration of

battery solutions into the broader business strategy.

• Provide technical advice and insights to external stakeholders, such as

government bodies, consultancies, and entrepreneurs, on battery

technologies and future trends.

7. Resource Management:

• Oversee the selection and acquisition of capital equipment and resources

needed for battery R&D and manufacturing.

• Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to optimize the efficiency

and productivity of battery engineering projects.

8. Quality Assurance:


• Lead quality assurance efforts, including supplier audits and product line

reviews, to maintain the highest standards in battery manufacturing and

production.

• Monitor and analyse performance metrics to identify opportunities for

improvement and implement corrective and preventive actions.


What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech) or higher in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed

institution.

• Proven experience in the design and development of electromechanical systems

in the electric vehicle (EV) domain, especially related to battery packs, chargers,

and power electronics enclosures.

• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, GD&T, and

tolerance stack-up analysis for high-voltage systems.

• Experience in thermal management techniques including simulation,

prototyping, and implementation in battery modules or energy storage systems.

• Deep knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for

Assembly) principles, especially for low-volume, high-reliability EV components.

• Familiarity with battery enclosure sealing, EMI/EMC shielding, vibration and shock

protection techniques for automotive-grade assemblies.

• Hands-on experience with prototyping, fixture design, and tooling for mechanical

components in R&D and pre-production stages.

• Knowledge of thermal propagation control and fire mitigation strategies for

lithium-ion battery systems.
