Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to perform the development of VLSI systems by defining various functionalities, architecture, layout, and implementation for a client.
Responsibilities
- Conduct verification of the module/IP functionality and provide customer support.
- Understand the architecture of the module or the IP and create a verification environment and development plan as per Universal Verification Methodology.
- Create test bench development and test case coding for one or multiple modules.
- Write or check the code as required.
- Execute test cases and debug them if necessary.
- Conduct functional coverage analysis and document test cases, including failures and debugging procedures.
- Test the entire IP functionality under regression testing and complete documentation for the client.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems efficiently.
- Write scripts for the IP.
- Comply with project plans and industry standards.
Reporting & Documentation
- Ensure weekly and monthly status reports for clients as required.
- Maintain documents and create a repository of all design changes and recommendations.
- Maintain time-sheets for clients.
- Provide written knowledge transfer/history of the project.

- Verification: Timeliness, Quality of Code, Number of defects, Customer responsiveness, Project documentation (scripts, test cases, etc.).
- Self-development: Skill test for next level clearance.

We are looking for Component Engineer (Mechanical Engineering) – Traction motors and gear boxes
You'll make a difference by:
- Design of mechanical components and assemblies for traction motors and gear boxes (Locomotive, EMU, Metro)
- Develop robust designs suitable for railway application including shock, vibration and high temperatures
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for high reliability and durability product
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis
- Support new component development with local vendors
- Support prototype development and validation testing
- Ensure designs meet railways ISO, EN, IEC, IS standards
- Work closely with electrical, site and vehicle integration teams to ensure seamless system performance
- Participate in design reviews, first article inspections, supplier assessments, customer meetings, site issues to resolve technical topics
- Perform FEA, thermal simulations, shock & vibrations to ensure structural integrity and thermal performance
Desired Skills:
- Should have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Should have relevant experience of a minimum of 3-8 years in mechanical design, preferably in traction or heavy-duty industrial applications
- Proficiency in CAD and simulation tools such as Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Ansys / NX Nastran, AutoCAD, SAP
- Knowledge of gear design, bearing systems, lubrication and thermal management
- Familiarity with railways standards and certification processes
- Good understanding of GD&T, casting and machining manufacturing drawings
- Understanding of manufacturing processes used for manufacturing traction motors and gear boxes

Objective
Design Engineer, shall be capable of reviewing & executing Engineering Activities for complete design of Transmission Lines Towers, Civil Foundations & Associated Structures.
Design Engineer shall work with a team of Draughts persons, PEMs to carry out activities as per the Engineering Plan aligned with the project and deliver on schedule and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Shall be responsible for collecting all inputs to carryout the design activities that are under his area of work.
- Must be capable of reading the technical specification and able to identify the different clauses related to Tower Design and Foundation Design.
- Review and ensure optimum design before submission to client.

- Design Engineer shall be able to review, design the detailed drawings for TL towers.
- Shall be able to design all types of foundations (pad & Chimney/ Isolated Foundation, Combined Foundation, pile foundations etc).
- Should be aware of design calculations as per codes of domestic & international codes.
- Should have knowledge on selecting the Test Load cases for Towers.
- Able to prepare Stringing Chart for site.
- Conversant with Indian Standards and international standards like BS, UBC, ACI, ASCE related for TL and Foundation design.
- Shall be able to conduct review of vendor drawings for bought out items.
