The Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Test & Evaluation (T&E) Engineer to support a major federal program delivering complex, mission-critical capability. Working closely with the T&E Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring systems are verified, validated, and delivered to the highest assurance standards, contributing directly to successful program outcomes in a highly collaborative environment.

Your duties will include:

• Coordinating planning, management, and reporting of T&E activities across the program lifecycle
• Supporting developmental, acceptance, operational, and in-service testing activities
• Developing and maintaining V&V and T&E strategies, master plans, and supporting documentation
• Coordinating verification, validation, and risk management activities to ensure program assurance
• Reviewing T&E and V&V artefacts to ensure quality, compliance, and completeness
• Providing expert advice on V&V methodologies, frameworks, and best practice improvements

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

• Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering frameworks and V&V lifecycle application
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Systems Engineering plans with a focus on V&V
• Proven experience delivering T&E and V&V activities within complex Defence environments
• Experience providing assurance advice related to certification and system verification
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, technical writing, and communication skills
• Relevant engineering or T&E qualifications

The Job

• Assisting with preparation of schedules, cost estimates, and project baselines
• Liaising with clients and suppliers
• Coordination of various activities
• Assisting with the procurement management by providing the required standards and specifications for the manufacturers and the suppliers
• Monitoring and reporting on project progress against timelines and budget
• Providing guidance on the project risks and opportunities
• Supervising the fabrication process
• Coordinate the preparation of documentation as required including the Quality Plan, Safety Plan, Environmental Plan, Inspection & Test Plan etc
• Attend Risk Assessment meetings, HAZOPs, Failure Mode Effect Analysis(FEMA), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) etc
• Assisting with Factory assembly, testing, and commissioning across Australia and New Zealand
• Occasional site visits across Australia and New Zealand

About you

• Be Degree qualified ideally Mechanical Engineering-CPEng or RPEQ preferred
• A minimum of 3+ years project engineering experience
• A good understanding of project management methodologies applicable to construction and Oil & Gas
• A good understanding of Australian legislative, regulatory and authority standards.
• Proficient at Microsoft office.
• Experience with design programs (Solidworks, AutoCAD)
• General understanding of inter-discipline engineering.
• Have excellent communication skills
• Be available to travel across Australia and New Zealand
• Self starter and driven individual

• Join the Infrastructure Delivery team

Provide support to Engineers and Project Managers within the Infrastructure Delivery department in the successful delivery of infrastructure projects across project lifecycles.

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage minor infrastructure projects under supervision from senior staff member.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents for works including briefs, schedules, specifications and contract documentation and assist with the evaluation of tenders and quotations for work.
• Contribute to the implementation of a monthly construction site surveillance regime for the projects assisting with, to ensure quality outcomes for Council.
• Understand what constitutes compliance with all relevant Council policies, government regulations and laws, applicable for your work, with support from senior staff.
• Ensure works are being constructed in accordance with approved drawings and relevant specifications, maintain appropriate Quality Assurance documentation and records.
• Support/undertake accurate reporting of projects and/or programs’ progress and forecasting within the required timeframe.
• Understand the Strategic and Operational links with relevant departments within Council and assist with the implementation of Council Plan objectives.
• Have a basic understanding of aspects that contribute to the successful delivery of projects/programs such as (but not limited to) Procurement, Project Brief preparation, Contract administration, project delivery methodology, stakeholder management and management of project risks.
• Provide support in managing projects and/or programs budget appropriately.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

• Have an understanding in all aspects of project delivery including procurement, contract management and supervision of capital works, especially in Council-type projects.
• Demonstrated ability to gain cooperation from stakeholders, contractors and members in the context of own work.
• Knowledge in procurement and contract management in local government setting, or similar, will be beneficial.
• Experience and understanding of local government processes and environment, will be beneficial.
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to gain cooperation from stakeholders.

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or equivalent.
• Current driver’s license.

About The Opportunity

The Integrated Product Support (IPS) Design Interface Engineer integrates supportability across all Support System capabilities with Mission System design, embedding RAM, safety, Human System Integration (HIS), and affordability across acquisition, Introduction into Service (IIS), and sustainment to drive reliable, cost-effective outcomes.

• Embed supportability into Mission System requirements and design where practicable
• Lead IPS design-interface analyses across all Support System Constituent Capabilities (SSCCs) and IPS elements
• Align supportability with certification, safety, security and environmental requirements
• Integrate Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) engineering with Verification and Validation (V&V) and Test & Evaluation activities

You’ll Need

• AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance or ability to obtain (Australian Citizen)
• AQF Level 7+ degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Naval Architecture or related engineering
• Experience in RAM engineering and/or HSI/Human Factors using MIL-STD-46855, MIL-STD-1472 or similar
• Demonstrated FRACAS leadership and engineering change control (ECPs) in service environments
• Experience delivering IPS/ILS within Defence acquisition (ASDEFCON), including Acquisition and IIS artefacts
• Strong knowledge of IPS elements and Design Interface practices, with evidence of embedding supportability into design and test baselines

This is a hands-on fixed-term contract role focused on optimization, hardening, and creating clear documentation to ensure smooth operations post-handover.

Responsibilities

• Review the current hybrid estate (on-prem & cloud) and map architecture, configurations, dependencies, and SOPs.
• Identify and implement improvements across performance, capacity, security, and cost (targeting 10–20% cloud savings).

• Proven track record producing high-quality system documentation and DR/BCP artefacts.
• Comfortable leading infra projects, engaging stakeholders, and working under deadlines.
• Certifications like ITIL/CCNP/VCP/MCITP are welcome.
