Looking for your next challenge as a HIL Build Engineer in the automotive industry? Keep reading!

Our organization is currently seeking a skilled and motivated HIL Build Engineer to join one of our key clients within the electromobility domain, working 100% on-site in Gothenburg.

You will play a central role in the development and maintenance of dSPACE HIL rigs used for Battery Management System (BMS) software validation. Your work will ensure that our client’s embedded systems are tested in reliable and scalable environments — a critical step in delivering high-quality electric vehicle solutions.

WHAT DO WE OFFER

  • Exciting and technically challenging projects with leading automotive clients.
  • A strong engineering culture and collaborative, international teams.
  • Supportive leadership focused on personal development and continuous learning.
  • A personal training budget for internal or external courses.
  • The opportunity to contribute to the future of electrified mobility.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a HIL Build Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and continuous improvement of HIL rigs for BMS software validation.

You will work closely with system, software, and test engineers to develop simulation models, integrate ECUs and test objects, and ensure the HIL environment meets project and performance requirements. Your contribution will directly enable efficient and accurate software testing in the electromobility area.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Develop and enhance HIL rigs (hardware and software) for BMS validation.
  • Configure, integrate, and maintain dSPACE HIL benches (Scalexio, ControlDesk, ConfigurationDesk).
  • Develop and adapt HIL models using MATLAB/Simulink and ASM libraries.
  • Integrate ECUs and test objects into the HIL setup, including wiring, I/O mapping, and CAN configuration.
  • Ensure correct signal routing, communication, and measurement setup.
  • Support test automation and continuous integration activities.
  • Troubleshoot HIL issues and provide technical support to validation teams.
  • Collaborate with developers and test engineers to improve system stability and simulation accuracy.

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for a hands-on and solution-oriented engineer with solid experience in HIL rig development and integration. You are passionate about automotive technology and enjoy building the systems that make large-scale testing possible.

Your profile:

  • Solid experience with dSPACE HIL systems (Scalexio, ControlDesk, ConfigurationDesk).
  • Proven background in HIL rig development, setup, and integration.
  • Good knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink and model-based design.
  • Experience with signal configuration, I/O mapping, and bus communication (CAN, LIN, FlexRay).
  • Scripting skills in Python, CAPL, or AutomationDesk.
  • Experience with ECU integration and hardware interfacing.
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

It’s a plus if you have:

  • Experience within Battery Management Systems (BMS) or electrified powertrains.
  • Knowledge of hardware interfaces, measurement systems, or signal conditioning.
  • Experience with CANoe/CANalyzer or similar Vector tools.
  • Previous experience from automotive R&D or electromobility projects.
